Here is a clipping from a recent article featured in RIBA on the work we did for Didsbury Baptist Church.
The design engineers from Manchester based Hilclare Lighting were very pleased to work with De Santis Philipson Architects of Wilmslow to provide a technically advanced, energy efficient lighting installation to enhance the refurbishment and extension of Didsbury Baptist Church.
CRISTO luminaires housing efficient T5 fluorescent light sources provided an attractive solution to compliment the Edwardian worship space and the facility to dim the lamps enabled a suitable ambience to be achieved for a variety of uses. The CRISTO is an attractive slim-line range of surface or suspended interconnecting and standalone fluorescent luminaires. There is also a range of colour matched “T”, cross and 900 connectors and end cap accessories, which offer a wide variety of design possibilities. The CRISTO is available in a wide range of T5 lamp wattages.
Throughout the building the design engineers also used GOYA, DELGADO and DALLO luminaires to suit the architect’s design, ensuring that the required light levels were achieved and that the relevant European and British Standards were met. Presence detectors were used to ensure minimum energy usage.
The GOYA range of recessed downlighters has attractive optional diffusers, bezels, louvres and hanging exit designs. With a minimum required ceiling void depth of only 110mm, this luminaire is ideal for most applications with 2.5-4m ceiling heights.
The DELGADO is an attractive range of slimline fluorescent luminaires, constructed with a strong aluminium base and polycarbonate diffuser. It has been used in this project to give a functional and economic lighting solution.
The DALLO luminaire is a surface mounted display fixture which has been used to emphasise certain areas within the building.
The Church has been very pleased with both the appearance of the installation and the reduced energy costs.
