Hilclare proves resourceful with Resourceable partnership

Hilclare Lighting has once again teamed up with Resourceable Ltd to deliver a bespoke lighting solution - this time for MJM Marine in Newry. 

A leading business service provider, Resourceable Ltd is a specialist across a range of technical disciplines, including energy efficient lighting and energy monitoring, analysis and reduction.

In recent years the company has forged a strong relationship with Hilclare Lighting, one of the leading commercial lighting manufacturers in the UK. As a result, Resourceable has specified Hilclare’s luminaires on a number of projects.

At MJM, the focus was on providing an energy efficient, turnkey solution for the company’s facilities in Newry. Since it was established in 1983, this family-owned joinery business has evolved into a leading international specialist in new build, refurbishment and fit-out services to the marine, commercial and private sectors. With contracts successfully completed across four continents, the company has earned a reputation for the consistently high quality of its finished products and services and keen to match the company’s innovative reputation, MJM turned to Resourceable Ltd to deliver a turnkey lighting solution to replace over

200 luminaires at its Newry factory. Of the 200 luminaires , 100 were high bay light fittings. These were replaced by Santona IP54s, the latest sensor controlled smart fluorescent luminaires from Hilclare.

As a result, an energy saving of 25% was immediately realised due to the deployment of lower wattage but more efficient luminaires, with a further 20% savings available from occupancy and dimming control. In addition, lighting levels were dramatically improved.

Santona IP54


The Santona IP54 used at MJM Marine is a T5 fluorescent high bay luminaire, designed to be surface, trunking or cable tray mounting. The body and front frames are fabricated from mild steel and paint finished white. A 3mm thick clear polycarbonate front cover is fitted and sealed to provide an IP54 rating. It also includes: 

  • Rigid mild steel construction, paint finished white. 
  • 60mm deep, low profile design. 
  • A wide range of lamp wattages and configurations available. 
  • Surface and suspension mounting options. 
  • Polycarbonate front cover in a steel frame, fitted with support lanyards to aid re-lamping.
